A heartfelt tribute now stands in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where the lives of Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy are being honored through a memorial playground built with love and community support.
The Clancy Family Playground was opened at Wadsworth Field Park in memory of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan. Built in just four days, the project brought together hundreds of volunteers, including their father, Patrick Clancy, in a powerful display of unity and remembrance.
Every element of the playground was thoughtfully designed to reflect the personalities and joys of the three children. A toddler play area honors baby Callan, while a purple play structure pays tribute to Cora’s favorite color and her love of Princess Sofia. Dawson is remembered through a firefighter-themed feature, reflecting his admiration for first responders.
The space includes deeply meaningful touches, such as three trees planted in their memory and angel wings woven into the shade structures. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a photo of the children, creating a place where their presence continues to be felt.
One of the most emotional features is a panel displaying Cora’s daily farewell message: “Thank you for a beautiful day in the neighborhood.” The message now serves as a lasting reminder of innocence, gratitude, and love.
More than just a playground, the memorial represents a larger mission. Organized by the HEARD Foundation, co-founded by Patrick Clancy, the project also raises awareness about perinatal mental health and the importance of support for families. It stands as both a place of remembrance and a call for compassion, ensuring these young lives are never forgotten.
